Software engineer and architect with over three decades of experience specializing in the design and construction of mission-critical, high-performance parallel and distributed systems, as well as machine learning (ML) pipelines.
Designed and built ML pipelines for training and inference, and led the design and development of a research data analytics and insights platform. Modeled data across relational and non-relational stores to serve both transactional and analytical workloads, from operational systems through data lakes, warehouses, and marts.
Nearly six years spent at Microsoft Corporation as a principal member of the Distributed Systems Group, working on Microsoft Windows Server. Designed and developed core algorithms for the Microsoft Active Directory service first released with Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. Represented Microsoft in the IETF for the Kerberos Network Authentication Protocol and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
Following Microsoft, focused on advanced research and strategic projects for Fortune 500 clients, providing architectural guidance, software design engineering, and technology trend analysis. Work emphasized performance remediation for latency and security-sensitive workloads, secure migration of on-premises systems to cloud-native platforms, and scalable infrastructure design.
Current research centers on security in parallel and distributed systems: cryptology, threat modeling, secure architecture, autonomous agents, adversarial machine learning, and behavioral approaches to digital threat detection, particularly in cyber-physical systems.
